Posted by admin in Education

Courtney Sale Ross, founder of The Ross School, accommodated a charity ball in East Hampton to benefit the school. Celebrities enjoyed as they took part in the 2009 Starlight Ball. The evening was filled with music, comedy, and food. The event was organized to gather money for the Steven J. Ross Scholarship fund, which permits 25% of the students to receive the needed financial support.

Household superstar Martha Stewart, who also serves as an inspiration for Courtney Sale Ross, was selected for this year’s honoree. “Martha’s accomplishments have been an inspiration to so many of us. She leads people through a process of creative discovery that is keenly characteristics of her work as an educator,” said Ross. Stewart is a long time friend of Ross and one of the school’s biggest supporters. Courtney Sale Ross expressed her excitement in giving the tribute to a person as special as Martha Stewart.

The Starlight Ball successfully brought together numerous stars who added spark to the evening. Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live entertained the guests with his funny antics, while James Ingram and Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel, offered music to the crowd.

The Ross School’s 6th annual ball is devoted to raising funds for the School’s programs and for the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund, which has been serving the people since 1991.
