    It’s not surprising the PowerPoint became universal tool in business world thanks to its quick to produce, easy to attach video & audio and effective to present ideas and conception. In today’s business boardroom, PowerPoint presentation is so overwhelming that it seems people are unable to give a clear presentation without a multi - graphic, text-heavy PowerPoint presentation backing up.

    Is PowerPoint really a bless to all business people?

    Being in business meeting for ten years, some time I was so frustrated by various meaningless presentation full of all kind of transition effects, clipboard and video, which can totally cause a visual chaos. Those people care too much about the appearance of their presentation trying hard to catch audience’s attention, somehow they do achieve this but in a way against their real purpose - convey their ideas - that’s what a PowerPoint presentation is about and they just distract people attention by all the visual cliché. What a pity!

    In my opinion, a PowerPoint presentation must match its purpose. If you design a presentation for entertainment, you can just go ahead to make a light-hearted, colorful, media-rich presentation, that’s totally ok. But if you want create a business presentation, the following principal you’d better stick to:

    1. Keep it simple

    As with any design, cut the clutter. Stop abuse those uselessly transition and sound effects, such gimmicks rarely enhance the message you’re trying to communicate other than distract, dazzle your audiences.

    2. Cut heavy text

    PowerPoint presentation undoubtedly is good medium for depicting an idea graphically or providing an overview, but you can’t make the presentation say for itself with a long, tardy illustration, your audience will be boring to death. Keep illustration short and to point.

    3. Less unnecessary Graphic

    Like transition and sound effects, graphic will became the center of focus, which in turn distracts audiences. Unless it is necessary, the less graphic are, the better the result is.

    If you chose not to acknowledge the emotion it tends to nag at you, so to get rid of it you eat. Otherwise you will be forever EMOTIONALLY EATING.

    Large Brands Set to Command Gaming Notebooks Sector Too

    Just a time ago it looked like fast laptops were only being produced by a couple of boutique resellers and were built to order, not produced in big numbers. They were low volume sellers and big profit generating products. The cost was just too high to justify buying these types of laptop for the masses. People reckoned they were the best laptops and justifiably so. Even though they did get people thrilled I do not think they sold in quantities because few people actually buy laptops that are above the average mark. As more established manufacturers see the revenues in the gaming notebook sector, things seems to have altered.

    Lowering prices are not common is this sector so bigger manufacturers should be making a lot of revenue. These manufacturers have probably been losing some cash on entry level units so this should be an attractive opportunity. Getting prospects to buy laptops is quite simple for larger manufacturers. I believe littler system builders are extremely unhinged about this. I am pretty certain that the giant manufacturers will try to squeeze the small ones out. Buyers will additionally gather tons more peace of mind when paying a larger amount of cash.

    To my astonishment the mass produced gaming laptops are as good or even better than the best laptops available to buy. I believe that local companies may yet have a chance. I guess people that buy these types of systems like to be able to spec up their system. This type of purchaser is generally well educated in the technical details and can evaluate the spec data. More often than not these sorts of buyers are to a greater extent concerned with the power than the design. All the changes are extremely good from the consumer’s standpoint. High end technology will be acquirable to everyone when prices are pushed lower. I am not quite sure any of that would happen however. Prices will probably remain relatively high as there are constantly new portables being introduced. As the gaming notebook division gets saturated with established manufacturers, many will take a wait and see approach.

    - Getting email from a product creator about anything under the sun because you bought XXX product from them. If your customers sign up for a newsletter, they expect mailings.

    What Makes People Want to Ask for a Refund?

    In the past, buyers tended to shrug and write off a bad purchase. But increasingly, people are prepared to stand up for their rights. If they feel they have not received value for money, they will ask for a refund.

    So what makes them decide to ask for their money back?

    - Software that doesn’t work as it is supposed to.

    - Physical products (CDs, DVDs) that don’t work on their systems.

    - An e-book that is full of content easily found in an hour’s net-surfing.

    - An e-book that has skimped on content or that has been poorly written.

    - An e-book that not only skimps on content but is full of links to up-sells to get the ‘really valuable’ information, or is full of affiliate links.

    The last case, an e-book full of affiliate links or links to an up-sell…is something you should be giving away free as part of your viral marketing campaign. Charge for it and you risk your reputation for being a source of quality information.

    Other things that bite into your customer’s valuable time.

    - MP3’s that are streamed from a website rather than being downloadable.

    - e-books that are in “.exe” format only, so the customer can’t print them out in one ‘hit’ (and can’t access them on a Mac computer).

    Give your clients anything that they can listen to or read away from the computer. Most of them spend enough hours a day at the keyboard already. They’d rather load an audio interview
    into their MP3 players and listen while they go for a walk or relax in the sun. They’d prefer to print out an e-book and read it or mark it up while sitting in an easy chair.

    Please, please don’t tether them to the computer!

    And finally, about those “name squeeze” pages. People are very quickly getting tired of having to give up their email addresses just to get to a sales page. Do you want them to buy or not? These days, unless there’s a huge buzz around the Net and they want to see what it’s all about, prospective customers are just as likely to click the ‘back’ button on their browser, or close the window and leave.

    After all, there’s always another internet marketer waiting to sell them a product. Probably one very similar to yours. Marketers who respect their client’s time and intelligence are the ones who will get their loyalty - and their cash.
